The Manual We Never Got
Why so many neurodifferent women feel like they're living life on hard mode.

Thursday 10th September at 12:00pm - 2:30pm DMC 01

An interactive, conversation-led facilitation from Ria Jackson at Inclusive Minds UK where people can get involved by sharing reflections if they want to, and ask questions as we go.

Session synopsis

For many neurodifferent women, life can feel like everyone else was handed a manual that somehow skipped us. Whether it's feeling overwhelmed by everyday life, masking who we really are, constantly questioning ourselves, or wondering why things that seem easy for others feel so hard, it can be exhausting.

This isn't your typical talk on neurodiversity. Together we'll explore how neurodifferences often present differently in women, why so many go unnoticed for years, and the impact that can have on confidence, work, relationships and wellbeing.

We'll unpack the hidden mental load, the cost of masking, and why understanding our nervous systems can change the way we see ourselves. Most importantly, we'll explore practical ways to better support ourselves and the people around us, replacing self-criticism with curiosity and leaving with a different way of understanding why our brains work the way they do.

Ria said 'My aim is for people to leave feeling seen, understood and with practical insights they can take away, with more than a few moments of, "I thought it was just me."'
